The Fila brand has over 100 years of experience in the production of sports clothing. It was established in 1911 in Italy and initially produced only equipment and clothing for mountaineers. With time, however, it significantly expanded its range, currently having an established position on the market.
After fifty years, Fila, then known as Maglificio Biellese Fratelli Fila - MABY, started the production of underwear for women, men and children. In the 1970s, the company tried to increase the production of underwear and improve its products. In 1973 the company created the first sports line, which was a ribbed cotton tennis uniform. An important event of this period is the appearance of the "White Line" line, the first collection of colourful clothes in the history of tennis.
The creation of the logo was particularly influenced by the sale of the company to Cotonoficio Olcese, which took place in 1976. The famous logo, representing the blue and red letter F, was created three years later.
The 1980s also played a significant role in the company's operations, when the brand launched tennis shoes and sandals. In this way, the Fila brand has become a globally recognized manufacturer of sports footwear in the 1990s, the Fila brand became recognizable not only in Italy but also in other European countries, as well as in the United States and Asia.
Since 2007, the company has been managed by Yoon-Soo Yoon, and the head office is located in South Korea. Currently, the brand produces clothes for various sports, including tennis, football, skiing, basketball and golf, as well as lifestyle shoes.
